God Wants You To Be Rich And Prosperous

ECCLESIASTES 5:19 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor–this is the gift of God. (There are more prosperity scriptures at the end of the article)

There are millions of good people who seem to continually attract unlimited prosperity and abundance into their lives, while others, equally as capable or talented or worthy, suffer from poverty, lack and scarcity?

Prosperity has nothing to do with education, status, talent, environment, intellectual ability, physical prowess, or geography. ANYONE, regardless of their background or circumstances, can attract prosperity into their lives.

Many people separate wealth from the “Christian” lifestyle. Somehow they thought that living a godly life meant living a life without material wealth. I would like to show you that the Bible clearly states that it is the will of God for ALL of his children to be prosperous and healthy. There is nothing in the Bible that says we must live in poverty to be right with God. We are right with God because of the finished works of Jesus Christ.

In the Bible in John 10: 10, Jesus says, “I am come that you might have life and that you might have it MORE than abundant.” If Jesus spoke the truth then this life must be available for all those who are willing to believe it.

PROVERBS 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles Published in 1910 has changed the lives of many people. The following is taken from chapter 1 of this timeless masterpiece.

“WHATEVER may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich. No man can rise to his greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless he has plenty of money; for to unfold the soul and to develop talent he must have many things to use, and he cannot have these things unless he has money to buy them with.

Man’s right to life means his right to have the free and unrestricted use of all the things which may be necessary to his fullest mental, spiritual, and physical unfoldment; or, in other words, his right to be rich.

No man ought to be satisfied with a little if he is capable of using and enjoying more. The purpose of Nature is the advancement and unfoldment of life; and every man should have all that can contribute to the power; elegance, beauty, and richness of life; to be content with less is sinful.

There is nothing wrong in wanting to get rich. The desire for riches is really the desire for a richer, fuller, and more abundant life; and that desire is praise worthy. The man who does not desire to live more abundantly is abnormal, and so the man who does not desire to have money enough to buy all he wants is abnormal. Click Here to Read the Full Article

Good Members,

Maybe you have not had the same experiences I have had in that I keep running into people making sure that I am aware that they are Christians and make it their great concern to assure themselves that I am Christian. As each professes their determination to be and associate only with Christians I think to myself, “With all these Christians over all these many years why is it there is so little expression of Love covering the Earth?” Of course this only makes me take a closer inventory of myself. Because if I have this correct I have been asked to follow the first request….that of loving God with all my being. I was not asked to get my neighbor to love God. So there is where it starts with me and where I need to be until I have that request in working order before heading into anything else. My assignment is to maintain a direct line of a connection to God and the task of keeping that connection growing stronger.   Therefore with each post I present it is put out there with my daily task of perfecting my grasp of what it really means to love God and a sincere desire to demonstrate an active Love.

Recently my Heavenly Father expressed to me, by example, how He loves all. That even those who do not look all that favorably upon Him He loves. It is a Love that doesn’t hear the person’s negative statements. The Love is granted unconditionally, completely without reservation or debate or judgment.  The point being this expression came ‘by example.’ It is my task to find the essence of life in that example. To have that essence absorbed into my being. To practice the fullness of that example.

I felt compelled to share this with you because I need to put myself out there in word. Doing so is not my usual practice since I believe that action is more appropriate. Yet as it has been set to us….that ‘we are what we speak….that the word came first.’ Putting myself out there in word is for me and needs now only to be out there in action. Which brings me to today and among my daily tasks is this post. When a post goes out I think to myself, ‘This task is a part of His work. It must be done out of and with Love.’ I am not all that sure of how many more posts will be going out. There are five more parts to this series. If I do not post them maybe you will find yourself compelled to seek the others out on your own.

The Sales Marketing Wall

  • • Choose territories, niches and prospects carefully, asking the Holy Spirit for divine

guidance (Acts 16:6-10)

  • • Don’t hide your light under a bushel. “If we build it they will come” is a lie

(Matthew 5:14-16)

  • • Plant, water and trust God for the increase (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2, 1 Corinthians 3:6)
  • • Be courageous (Proverbs 22:13, Numbers 13:31-33)
  • • Have a heart to build a good reputation (Proverbs 19:1, 22:1, 27:2)
  • • Seek first to create friendships (2 Corinthians 12:24)
  • • Respond to harshness with gentleness (Proverbs 15:1, Philippians 4:5)
  • • Do not resort to high pressure, manipulation (2 Thessalonians 3:2, Proverbs 20:10,

20:14, 20:23)

  • • Be diligent (Proverbs 22:29 below)
  • • Be persistent (Luke 11:8)

Good People,

Here we are ready for Part 3 of a Godly Business. Because there are several scriptures to ponder, along with concepts to consider, each of the Walls of a Godly Business are taken one at a time.  Working each wall on its own is not a teaser or a Soap Opera cliff hanger strategy. Each wall deserves contemplation. Respecting our need to assimilate information at a thorough level of understanding the presentation I have adopted probably fits your thinking process better. So please enjoy.

The Research Development Wall

In order to operate a business, you need to decide WHAT products and services you

will sell, how you will produce, price and deliver them.

Ask yourself, “What Would Jesus Do” if He walked into your business and saw your

products / services? Here are six core questions:

  • • Are your products/services constructive? (Matthew 5:16)
  • • Are your products/services relevant? (John 4:35, 2 Corinthians 9:12)
  • • Do your products/services have value greater than if they were produced by

customers in-house? (Daniel 4:36)

  • • Do your products/services relate to your passion and giftedness?

(1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12)

  • • Do your products/services have inherent quality? (Galatians 6:7-8, Col. 3:23)
  • • Are your products and services creative? (Genesis 1:26)

If you are deliberately building a Godly business, then the Holy Spirit will tell you what

products and services NOT to offer, as well as what you ARE to offer. Let Him be your

ultimate guide. If you are obeying Him, you will have peace. If you aren’t, you won’t.

Good People,

The following is the continuation of the series ‘Godly Business’ taken from the notes of Drew Crandall who, in 1988, started a Christian based marketing and media business based on the principles he discovered in the Book of Nehemiah.

The Planning Wall

  • • The word “entrepreneur” means someone who runs a business at his/her own

financial risk. Building anything takes vision, wisdom, commitment, time, energy,

money, faith and risk!

  • • Building a Godly business is not accidental. It is very intentional, deliberate and

methodical. You need a God-given plan! Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no

vision, the people perish.”

A plan is a method of action; a pattern is an example, copy, blueprint, rendering

  • • Example of Noah’s Ark in Genesis 6:13-16
  • • Example of the temple in 1 Chronicles 28:11-19
  • • Example of rebuilding Jerusalem in Nehemiah 2:12-16
  • • The importance of vision in Habbakuk 2:1-4

Planning starts at the top with YOU.

Avoid extremes in planning: either too little or too much! Otherwise, you’ll either

operate in chaos and confusion…or in legalism. You will never remove the mystery

out of human existence, or out of operating a business. God is God and you’re not!

  • • Your plan should include a general blueprint for all of the walls.
  • • What are your core non-negotiable principles or preferences?

The Best Copycat Wins

Have you been taught that being a copycat is a bad thing? In school we were punished if you copied your buddy’s homework or for plagiarizing an essay…

While imitation may be the best form of flattery, a knock-off Rolex watch, Armani handbag or pair of Gucci shoes won’t put you on the “A” list.

Now in the Direct Selling Industry (MLM, Network Marketing) you want to be a good copycat. As a matter of fact, you want to be a copycat maker.

The power of the direct selling strategy is that it allows you to tell a story about your product, your company, and yourself. It is this combination of the word-of-mouth endorsements with the loyalty of its customer base that adds instant credibility that a product on a shelf or a television advertisement cannot come close to.

Somebody told you their story and you joined up, and somebody before that told that person, and someone before that, and so on. The danger of relying on this storytelling method of advertising is best demonstrated by the party game called telephone. Click Here to Read the Complete Post

Good People,

We can take all the clever statements, heroic insights and masterful strategies in total and they will always come up short of providing us success. Why? You got it….I am sure. The answer was in your mind before the question came up. If the most powerful element, the ultimate authority is not part of our plan there can be no success. True success comes through obeying the word of God. God as your business consultant will always put you on the path to success. A success that will not only benefit you but all those you know. With this in our minds and actions I found an article, by Drew Crandall, that you may appreciate and be happy to pass along. Because of the importance of what is being presented I have decided to spread the contents of the article over several posts. Each bite needs time to be savored and digested.

You are the “Nehemiah”

of your organization!

Imagine your organization as a fortress with eight walls.

For best results, you must build on the right foundation

and build all of the walls simultaneously using “bricks”

of the Word of God and “mortar” of the Holy Spirit!”

CHRIST

Place Christ, not at the top of your business plan but at the center setting the other areas around Him. With this in mind I will present the following 8 areas individually over the next several posts.

PLANNING

Research & Development

SALES & MARKETING

FACILITIES

LEGAL & ADMINISTRATIVE

FINANCE

PRODUCTION

HUMAN RESOURCES

“Seeth thou man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings, he shall not

stand before mean men.” Proverbs 22:29

Manage the walls of your business faithfully each day, and watch what happens!

The Foundation

1. ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN?

Have you trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? In order to start and

run a Godly business, you must have an intimate, daily, personal relationship with the

Creator of the Universe through Jesus the Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. This

begins with the New Birth (John 3:7, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 3:11; Eph 2:8-10, 5:21-30).

2. ARE YOU CALLED TO BE A CHRISTIAN LEADER?

You may know the Lord, but has He called you to be a Christian entrepreneur,

business owner, CEO, or executive director? You know your call by:

  • • Asking God and listening to His answer (James 1:5-8)
  • • Seeking wise, Godly counsel including your spouse. The Lord will not lead what He

has made One in two different directions (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

  • • Examining what you gravitate toward, what you’re gifted in, where you have a

passion, and where you seem to bear fruit (Matthew 7:20)

It’s crucial that you know your call. It gives you:

  • • Vision
  • • Purpose
  • • Peace
  • • Direction
  • • Clarity
  • • Motivation

3. ARE YOU READY AND WILLING TO FREELY ABIDE IN THAT CALL?

You can know the Lord, and be called, but unless you are willing to freely abide in your

call, building your Christian business isn’t going to happen from a practical, day-by-day

perspective. If you are ready and willing, then commit to the “Christian Business

Owner Declaration of Independence(free pdf online at www.ChristAtWork.org) and

post it in your office as a daily reminder. Another helpful daily reminder is developing

and publishing a Christ-based Mission Statement

Drew Crandall became a believer in

Jesus Christ on June 8, 1985 at a Christian business

breakfast in East Windsor, CT. He has been active

in workplace ministry ever since. In 1988, Drew started

a Christian-based marketing and media business, Keep In Touch,

based on the principles he discovered in the Book of Nehemiah.

The various aspects of the business were “walls,” and Drew

diligently sought to build these walls on the foundation of Christ,

using “bricks” of the Word of God and “mortar” of the Holy Spirit.

For over 20 years, Drew has tried to lead by example,

describing Keep In Touch as an “everyday laboratory in applied

Christianity.” He has shared How to Build a Godly Business©

with many Christian business owners across the Northeast.

Most recently, he taught this over a period of several

months at meetings of the Greater Hartford Chapter

of the Fellowship of Companies for Christ Int’l.

Drew is a charter, lifetime member of FCCI,

serving as Northeast Region Director

Good People,

Recently I was running the thought of what is it we are looking for to help increase our financial situations and in so help others as well. Okay this is an exercise I do often. During my hunt I found this following article. Though it is aimed at people interested in starting a business whose ages start at 18 the information is valid for anyone of any age considering starting their own business. Anytime a person gets the itch to go out on their own they need to find information to help them start up and run their business with the least amount of risk and the highest degree of success as possible.

For the sake of emphasis I abstracted a few of the comments and suggestions. What impressed me was the fact that there is a group of like business people who have all of these tools all set up and ready to help anyone from the ages of 18 on up to start a simple business. Even if the business is a stepping stone to something bigger it is a great way to get started in building capital. One you have read the article you may want to check out this group at www.bring2help 2.com

Be Your Own Boss

Found at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine

Got that entrepreneurial spirit? You aren’t alone. In fact, two out of three teenagers who completed a recent Junior Achievement Interprise” Poll on Teens and Entrepreneurship said they hope to start their own business one day. But it takes more than a good idea and a desire to be your own boss to launch a successful venture.

One of the biggest challenges of enterprising young adults: the credibility gap. Most entrepreneurs endure long hours, challenging management decisions and months without income, but young entrepreneurs may face larger hurdles. With minimal work experience , limited financial resources, fledgling credit histories and no start-up experience, they often have difficulty convincing people to take their business ideas seriously. Startups are already risky — inexperience adds more risk. In fact, one in three new businesses fails by their second year.

How can you minimize your risks? Use our checklist to get ready. We’ll help you carefully weigh whether to trade valuable years of traditional work experience for your new business dream — and then how to pull it off when you’re ready.

Get some experience

“Financial literacy is the language of owning a business,” says Irwin Rudick, the vice president of the San Diego chapter of SCORE, a nonprofit firm that gives advice and training to small business owners.

Build a winning team

Bring on people who complement your skills and fill in the gaps.

Fight inexperience with advice

Universities and alumni networks are great sources for mentors. The Internet is another great place to get free advice. SCORE, for example, boasts a mentor network of more than 10,000 mostly retired entrepreneurs nationwide.

Write a bulletproof business plan

One of the biggest mistakes a young entrepreneur can make is simply failing to write a business plan . There is no other single process that can be more useful in beginning business problem-solving than addressing the risks and thoughtfully forecasting by writing the plan. Don’t fall into the excuse that you have the business plan in your head. “That’s a fantasy,” says SCORE’s Rudick. “It only becomes a reality when you put it into writing because when it’s in your head, no one else can see it.”

This article was reported and written by Elizabeth Kountze for Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine.

I must emphasis that in today’s market I am impressed on how many organizations are available to help people start up their own business. Many people, though, need hands on experience so as to feel the role of owing their own business and that is why I suggest that people look into www.bring2help2.com

Good People,

I read a quote recently by an unknown person, ‘Everyone laughs in the same language. Just listen.’ We all know the famous quote, ‘Laughter is the best medicine.’ It is true. Good People,

After some thought and reading I figure it may be time for us to once again work on setting up habits that will help us get the most out of our time and energy so that we have time and energy left over at the end of the day. Hopefully the following article I found by Scott H. Young will be of help to you.

6 Rules to Work Less and Get More Accomplished…

by Scott H. Young

Posted on Lifehack October 23, 2007

It’s impossible, right? In order to get more done, you need to invest more time. Working ten hour days will make you more accomplished than a colleague that only works seven. Studying three hours a day will get you better grades than the guy who skims through a few chapters before the test. More work = more results.

I disagree. Working smart beats working hard. In some cases working more can actually damage the amount you get accomplished. In both cases, the degree effort matches outcomes has been overstated.

Working less and accomplishing more isn’t easy. It requires thinking creatively to find more effective ways of doing things. But first you have to be open to the possibility that your methods aren’t as efficient as they could be. Once you do that you can look for ways to get more accomplished without just increasing your to-do list. Here are a few guidelines to start looking:

1) The 80/20 Rule

The 80/20 rule basically suggests that a small amount of inputs contributes to a much larger amount of outputs. Using this rule means to minimize time spent in the unproductive 80%.

In application, you can’t simply cut everything that doesn’t directly contribute to your bottom line. Some things, however trivial, still need to get done. The purpose of 80/20 is to force you to be more ruthless in cutting time in areas that contribute little. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Cut e-mail time to invest more in larger projects.
  • Say no to people who want commitments that don’t contribute enough value.
  • Spend more studying core concepts and key terms than less important details.

2) Parkinson’s Law

Parkinson’s Law states that “work will fill the time available for its completion.” This is a side effect of focusing on doing work instead of getting projects completed. Give yourself strict deadlines and cultivate a desire to finish projects, not just check tasks off on a to-do list.

Here are some applications:

  • Set a timer for 90 minutes to finish a small project. When the timer sounds, you can’t continue working on it, so think fast and don’t waste time.
  • Chunk mammoth projects into smaller pieces. Strive to complete those pieces, rather than just working on the project aimlessly.

3) Energy Management

Energy management, as opposed to time management, forces you to think of results as a function of energy, not time invested. Working intensely for a short period of time can accomplish more than working for days, tired and distracted.

Working yourself into low energy can actually make you accomplish less than if you rested. Here are some ideas:

  • Work in bursts. Divide yourself between complete rest and complete focus. Don’t constantly switch in-between which leaves you neither rested or productive.
  • Kill projects. Don’t spread tasks that only take a few hours over several days. Sit down and finish them in one sitting. This method of killing projects keeps your energies focused and time saved.
  • Rest, health and fun matter. Enslaving yourself to your work can actually accomplish less. Master the ability to recharge yourself when you need it

4) Only Use Sharp Tools

There’s an old story of two lumberjacks in a tree-cutting contest. The first picked up a rusty axe and ran into the woods immediately to start chopping trees. The second spent almost until the end of the contest sharpening his axe. After which he walked up and quickly felled the biggest tree.

The moral? Don’t use rusty tools.

Don’t waste your time doing things you don’t intend to be excellent at. Delegate them to someone who does have a sharp tool. And for the things you do want to master, make it a priority to sharpen your tool beyond what is necessary to cut. Skill saves time.

5) Rule With Numbers

Assumptions are the biggest waste of your time. When your intuitions about the world don’t match the way it works, you can never be efficient. The only way to combat false assumptions is to test them and follow them up with numbers. The results of a test can save you hundreds of hours if it shows a current process has no impact or suggests a faster alternative

Here are a few examples:

  • A/B Tests – Test out two different methods simultaneously. This can allow you to know with greater accuracy which method works best.
  • Track Numbers - Don’t just weigh yourself or count calories, track them. See how they go up, down or change over time.

6) The Marginal Rule of Quality

Is it better to be a perfectionist or sloppy? One can never get a project finished the other requires constant repair because they waste too much time. I think the answer is simpler: when the extra input you invest exceeds the output gained, stop working on it.

An even better extension of this rule would be to say you should stop working on a project when the extra input invested gives less output than doing a comparable task. Here are some applications to try:

  • Measure the difference between different amounts of time spent. Try doing your e-mail for 30, 60 and 90 minutes per day. Compare the effectiveness changes when you change the amount of time. Can you really justify spending two hours doing e-mail?
  • Compare the amount of time spent polishing with time needed for repairs. If it takes more time to polish than repair, you’re better of quitting early. If repairs are draining your time and polishing is fast, slow down and be careful
